FAQ

What does 1Addr do?
Our objective is to get every delivery to your front door -- or wherever else you may want it. Our service currently guides food delivery drivers through the last leg of their delivery journey. All you need to do is record a guide for your address once, and then share your 1Addr address link with the food delivery services. We plan to partner with companies to automate the link sharing process in the near future.
Are misdeliveries really a problem?
Misdeliveries are especially prevalent in urban areas where housing is less consistent. When every house is different and the front door location is often unclear, deliveries tend to end up in random places. Other common areas of concern are gated communities or garden apartments where the mailroom is in one shared location, but packages are expected to be dropped off at the front door of every unit. Unless the driver is a regular there, it can be difficult to find the individual units inside the community.
Why is 1Addr better than just writing delivery instructions?
With our service, all your delivery instructions are in one place. Just record your guide and write your notes once, then copy and paste your 1Addr link wherever you need it. Our 1Addr link also includes a more comprehensive set of instructions for the address, including: a guide video, a map with guide markers, and any additional written instructions.
What happens to my data during the alpha test?
The current alpha test focuses on the functionality of the app, rather than the specific data inputted into it. We will not access your data without permission during the test. However, your publicly accessible 1Addr address link will be generated with your address entry, and you are welcome to share it with us for validation purposes. Your data may get deleted during the test, and we will delete all user and address data from our servers at the end of the test period. So make sure you do not enter any sensitive data.
What happens to my data after the alpha test?
As mentioned in the question above, we will delete all user and address data from our servers at the end of the test.
What information gets shared in the 1Addr link?
The 1Addr address link includes a guide video, a map with guide markers, and any additional written instructions. Your name and personal information will not be shared.
Why is the 1Addr link publicly viewable? Is this safe?
Our service is designed to be quickly accessible to drivers. By making the 1Addr link publicly viewable, it allows drivers to quickly view the link and deliver your packages with minimal hassle.
As long as the information you provide is safe, the 1Addr link is safe. Do not provide or show your gate code, door passwords, hidden keys, etc. for your safety. We also suggest not recording the inside of your house or showing any residents in the guide video for your privacy.
Can I use this now?
Yes, you can copy and paste your 1Addr link into the delivery instructions of various delivery services. However, there may be errors and bugs that make it difficult to use right now. Your 1Addr link may also expire if the server data is deleted during the test.
Will delivery services actually use this?
Maybe. 1Addr is still in closed alpha testing, so delivery drivers may not be familiar with our links. Many delivery services lock or warn against opening foreign links in the delivery instructions, so there will be mixed results. Until we have acquired partnerships with various companies, we do not expect the links to be very effective. If you do try it, please let us know which service used it in our feedback form.
Does this work for packages?
Yes, as long as you can share the link in the delivery instructions. Although our current service is aimed towards food delivery, the same concepts apply to packages.
